A criminal court has adjourned ousted President Hosni Mubarak's trial on charges of failing to prevent the killing of protesters during the 2011 uprising that toppled him to September 14.

Mubarak's two sons, Gamal and Alaa, and his interior minister, Habib al-Adli along with six of his top aides are also facing trial in the same case.

The defendants are also being tried for making illicit gains and abusing their political influence for profiteering while in office.
