The Kaduna state Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Shehu Balarabe Giwa has disclosed that the state government will begin house-to-house waste collection this November through its waste collection Company, ZL Global Alliance.
Giwa made the disclosure in Zaria during an assessment tour to waste collection facilities, saying the government under Governor Nasir El-Rufai had zero tolerance for dirty environment.
Commending the ZL Global Alliance for its efforts towards managing solid waste in the state, Giwa said, “We want the company to continue with the workable strategy that will make Kaduna cleaner than the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and we are already on that course with establishment of transfer stations and dumping sites across the three geopolitical zones of the state.”
He said about 6,000 people were currently engaged across the state for the purpose of keeping the environment clean. Read the full story here.
