Despite billions pledged this week to fight Africa’s Malaria, economists Jasson Urbach of Africa Fighting Malaria and Julian Harris of the International Policy Network remind us, that "Donors already spend over US$600 million a year in Africa to fight the disease, with the US President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) alone set to devote another US$1.2 billion over the next five years. Yet, while some progress is being made, malaria is still the leading cause of child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa, where a child dies from the disease every 30 seconds."
Courtney Love
Whether you love or loathe her offbeat style, Courtney Love certainly turns heads and her latest outing was no exception. Frances Bean Cobain’s mom stepped out in NYC this week to celebrate the launch of Salvatore Ferragamo’s Signoria, but when she hit the pink carpet, not everything was coming up roses.
This isn’t a total disaster for the Hole rocker, but it seems Courtney came down with a classic case of fashion trend overload. Check out how she paired her black leather dress with a leopard jacket. Sure, leather and animal print are both still hot for spring, but try one at a time.
And let’s talk about those shoes! Did she borrow them from her daughter’s closet? They don’t fit her feet and her heels are hanging off the ends. Plus, it looks like she could trip over the laces any second and take a tumble. Remember ladies, doll Bag, if the shoe fits, buy it… and if it doesn’t, keep on shopping!
Finally, her edgy ensemble was a bit out of place at this party. Other lovely ladies at the upscale bash such as Emma Roberts and Kate Mara kept it classy and chic, wearing blouses and cocktail dresses. Save the leather and leopard for a rock concert next time!
The final verdict? Courtney should stick to trying one bold fashion trend at a time and finding footwear in her size.
